Letter B challenge and a Folksy Friday!

There are of course loads of animals beginning with B and that goes for businesses connected with animals too. So in my wisdom I put a selection of suggested animals to the vote on Monday, only for it to be a draw!

I did think of painting all 4 but I’ve had a busy week, so bush baby was pulled out of the hat.
Here he is on a mixed media ACEO, acrylic background with glass paint on acetate. It was quite hard getting his colouring right with glass paint!

I’ve decided I will definitely paint an ACEO for each week of the challenge and hopefully for most weeks a piece of glassware as well. Last weeks Angel fish sea life ACEO has gone onto Ebay & I will add the others there too.

For this weeks business I’ve decided to select a few because as well as a recommendation, I know a couple of other great Folksy shops from the art forum, all beginning with B & featuring animals but in quite different styles.

I’m going to start with a charity though – the Blue Cross.
They do great work, including 4 animal hospitals in the UK. Their very informative website is www.bluecross.org.uk

‘We’ve been dedicated to the health and happiness of pets since 1897. Abandoned or unwanted, ill or injured – we do what’s needed to give every pet a healthy life in a happy home. We’re a charity, so the more help you give us, the more help we can give pets.’

My featured Folksy craft sellers are:

Beastie Brooches, recommended by Shaz at the The Sock Garden. I’d not come across this shop before and Linda Lovatt does beautiful copper collages and jewellery.

Bluebeezy has some wonderful felt creatures at the moment, made by Jeanie Hansford.

Last but not least is Bee Garden Art.

Gaynor Hill has a real talent for painting insects.

I hope you’ve enjoyed the B animals. Click on the photos to go direct to their shops.

Next week is of course C and again all suggestions are welcome including animal related businesses whose name begins with C.
