Art challenge letter K results

The choice was between a kiwi, kangaroo, koala and kudu. Koala won the day, as they are of course incredibly cute animals!

This time I painted the background using acrylics on 270gsm brown paper, rather than painting white paper a dark colour. I think it works quite well and I’ve painted more leaves on the acetate along with the koala using glass paint. The overall result has enhanced the 3d effect. So here he is, ACEO size (2.5 by 3.5 inches).

I’ve also been painting more kingfishers, one of my most popular animals, so I couldn’t leave them out of my letter K challenge! Here is my latest.

My kingfisher collection now includes wine glasses, bowls, jewellery pendants and ACEO. Visit my Folksy shop and Etsy shop to see them all.

My featured business this week is a charity. I thought I’d struggle to find a K but the magic of the internet came up trumps!

   Kit Wilson Trust

The purpose of the Trust is to promote the welfare of animals – To Rescue abandoned, unwanted, ill-treated and neglected animals – To care for these animals and provide them with any necessary veterinary attention until they can be re-homed.

From a modest beginning the Trust has grown, and in 1986 set up its own Animal Rescue Centre at Hadlow Down, near Uckfield, in East Sussex. In addition to the animal rescue and re-homing work, the Trust has become increasingly involved in wildlife rehabilitation, and operates a wildlife emergency help line. Over the years, the Rescue Centre has also become a permanent home to many animals which it is not possible or desirable to re-home: these include horses, donkeys, cats, goats, birds and small rodents.

Thank you for reading if you got this far 🙂  Next week is the letter L and suggestions are welcome with a large choice of animals, along with any businesses you’d like to recommend whose name begins with L.
